Fewer reports to the Diary doesn't indicate less happening in our lives. So much is going on that it's difficult to accurately report on all the activity. DGM is about to make a shift to its next stage, and from that shift the rest of our lives will be significantly determined. This will become more apparent by the end of this year & I will report in when able.
Meanwhile, Diane interviewed two secretaries yesterday. One member of staff left abruptly ten days ago. The dross, paper & deadly weight of responding to the legal requirements of sanctioned bureacracy is crippling our capacity to respond to proper concerns. So, we need assistance.
This morning I have written a personal recommendation for one of the few Guitar Craft students I recognise as a professional musician. This is not a life I would recommend but, where I see that this is not fantasy or misplaced desire on the part of the Crafty, I give professional advice. I note once again that many people seek my advice & very few want it.
Response to the Guestbook:
1. Thank you to Mr. Hat for his informative comments.
2. Mike Pougounas (1st. June) asks permission to translate DGM Newsletter One into Greek. Permission granted to translate & use these materials in a right way. We ask that proper accreditation is made. The Newsletter is available to anyone else who shares our aims & is supported / helped by its commentary, in accordance with our publicly declared aims:
"The fifth aim of DGM is to be a model of ethical business in an industry founded on exploitation, oiled by deceit, riven with theft and fuelled by greed.
If a small company, which aims to be true, can succeed in the music industry there is hope for others. We each support each other without necessarily seeing or knowing how this might be, or when it occurs. But on the level where things are true, this is true."
Since writing the Newsletter, clearly a polemic, I have often wondered if the tone is too fierce or immoderate. Sadly, experience since then confirms my comments.
3. Victor Herrara (15th. May) expects "to be blown away by superior musical vision and ability to hear new, challenging msuic, and to see a few rules broken... I don't think that is an unreasonable expectation". Reasonable or unreasonable, from this guitar stool the expectation is an oppressive weight.
4. From Collectors' Club Four: "In 1982 King Crimson supported Roxy Music for seven shows in Portugal, Spain and France". We are checking with the other Crims to see if Crimson did play in Milan with Roxy Music. The two groups separated when Roxy went to Greece, & I believed the Riviera was our last joint show. An errata will appear when we have more information. Mea culpa.
