Preproduction continues at the same slow but steady pace. Their songs do not have the same excellent form as their instrumentals.
How best to oversee an improvement? It is clear that the chinless wonders prefer me to clearly articulate the problem, rather than offering a solution, so that they can find their own solutions. All will be well so long as there is a willingness to address these issues.
In the past their songwriting has been superb, so I am surprised that a degree of stimulus, liberally applied to the lower parts of the anatomy, should be necessary. The comfortable option is tempting for all of us at times.
I am reluctant to admit of compromise. But, as all the band members, in their individual ways, are happy to accept it, why should I be having sleepless nights on their behalf. Come on guys, you will be getting the writing credits, not me!
