Fripp described this period in his live work as being “part of an ongoing series which has the aim of finding ways in which intelligence and music, definition and discovery, courtesy an reciprocation may enter into the act of music for both musician and audience.” During the first two performances of this four-gig stint, Fripp conjures translucent strings, gritty synth tones, and ethereal choirs whose elasticated timbre hovers and haunts the microtonal peaks that emerge out of foreboding electronic storms. There are points in which Fripp is not only exploring the musical shapes and colours available to him but how they can be manipulated through the array of knobs, buttons, and dials of the digital racks that make up his Lunar Module rig, accelerating and sweeping the music up into a digital tornado of dizzying proportions.
