Oh, My God!!! August 22, 2007

8/22/07: Without sounding brash, I truly believe I was one of the first audients at this particular show, at a venue that I always thought had great sound. The show was magnificent, and KC was really on it that night. To remember something that terrific from so far away in another universe at my age must have been remarkable, and it was. Crim had all of the "Discipline: album down pat and "Beat" was out as well. I remember Robert coming out at the start of the show, with the song that appears on one or the other album, I forget which one. I’m too damned old and grouchy to care. Anyway, if those of you who were there as I was, Robert had on a sweatshirt with the KC Monster "Red" (off the 1st album, whom I christen "The King") emblazoned. Where can a fanatic like me get said sweatshirt? I know not. Perhaps DGM can re-issue it? So, back to the audient portion...a drone thing in the background, and Robert playing a blistering solo with that scorching sound that allows sustain and breathless crunch, ’buckers on fire!...Just him and a spotlight of soft blue...then, Adrian comes out and bows, and then Tony, and then Bill...My God, they were hot. One of the best live shows I have ever seen, and believe me, I have seen nearly everyone. Thanks be to God I have had the pleasure of actually meeting and talking to Robert and Tony and Adrian, all consummate players and gracious gentlemen. A real treat, not to be missed, and fuck the sound. You get what was there, my friend! From a bootleg, nontheless, but fabbo in its own right. Go for it and enjoy! -James in Rockford-

This show is the true spirit of the 1984 King Crimson with all his strong and weak points, full of energy, rhythm and power.

Discipline and Thrakking Sat., Nov 17, 2007

The violently creative Entry of the Crims lead-in makes Thrakattack sound like an Air Supply album, combining the Dionysian influence with a lot of noise.
I was reluctant to get this download at
first because it is a duplication of
Absent Lovers. While AL is sort of
the definitive "discipline" version of the band at this time, this download is the "thrak" version -- raw and Read more
