This is, indeed, a great recording. I find myself humming this tune
quite often, and I find it to be one of the ’cooler’ Crimson tracks.
Boz gave King Crimson some soul and a bit of a different dimension
that has never reappeared. I prefer the music of this incarnation of
King Crimson to that of the early eighties band, at the very least. I
simply listen to the live bootlegs from 1971 and 1972 more often,
period. Boz had a good feel for the bass and, to agree with
Ian Wallace’s comments,he held a good "base" for the band. He did a
remarkable job, considering the circumstances. Maybe he would have
become a virtuoso by staying in Crimson, who knows? He definitely had
that capability, but maybe he had the restraint to ignore that
direction. He was a talented musician and he will be missed. Godspeed Boz, Sincerely, Chris Anderson

The Boz/Mel/Ian/Robert incarnation of Crim has been the most underrated of all. But the indelible influence of that lineup comes distinctly from the funkiness that Boz Burrell brought to the table that has been felt throughout to present day and beyond Read more
