This is an absolute jewel.
This solo, and the section where Jon Anderson sings over Keith Tippett’s glistening arpeggios have always been my favorite parts of the original Lizard.
It is quite surprising this didn’t make it on the 40th Anniversary set, though I am building an ’Alternate Lizard’ with the Hot Tickles we have been given.
Thanks for providing us with these sonic glimpses of incredible music.

Good grief--just when I thought you couldn’t outdo the incredibly enticing Fripp/Wetton/Phil Collins segments posted a few months back, now you go and casually toss out something this historically meaningful. Would it be too much to say that this may be the very Read more

Regarding the lament about such hot playing by Fripp over a "dull" rhythm section--true, this ain’t Bruford & Wetton, but every combination produces results not available elsewhere. To my ears, the best Crimson-related rhythm sections provide what amounts Read more

A bulldozer of energy, grabbing the listener with both hands -- picture a runaway train navigating hairpin turns and you’ve got the idea. Adrian proves as worthy a drummer as he was a guitarist, and Trey Gunn steps out as Read more

what's essential?   Tue., May 26, 2009

Imho, i think that maybe every single musical excerpt of the entire KC body of work is essential for every KC fan and appreciator ... i remember that I thought exactly the same way back in late 1972 Read more

What the setlist doesn’t show is that "One Time" through "Elephant Talk" is played without pause, as if one big medley -- very effective. The mix is typically strong on separation, drums and vocals, making it easy to appreciate Pat’s Read more
