JOHNNY TOOBAD IS DEAD
Posted by Chris Inguanta on Nov 14, 2014

The death of Johnny Elichaoff (known to League of Gentlemen fans as Johnny Toobad) has been announced.

Elichaoff performed with Fripp, Barry Andrews and Sarah Lee during 1980.
After leaving LoG prior to recording their self-titled debut, he went into a career in the City, music management, and in recent times was featured as one of the dealers in episodes of Channel 4’s art collecting show, Four Rooms

Thanks to site visitor Holloway for letting us know about Johnny’s passing.

You can hear Johnny on driving form on any of the LoG recordings in the DGM Live archive. His drumming may have lacked the expansive flair of some of the other drummers in the Crimso continuum but his direct, to-the-point playing was pretty much perfect for the League. Here’s my personal favourite.
