17.22 Chez Horse, Chiswick. Toyah is very busy at the moment, so I have come up to London for a hot date with my wife. We have walked the Chiswick High Street, had brunch, looked into several shops & read the papers over cappuccino & mint tea. The Financial Times Weekend is without a doubt the finest weekend paper read: its commentary has no side nor edge, and the constant negativity & carping from the other Sundays increasingly wearies me. The High Street on Sunday has become a bustling day: the last time I was here with Toyah it hadn't quite made the transition from the old to the new Sunday. All the shops are open, including WH Smith & Son.
