"Welcome to the first ever King Crimson in Slovakia. We're very happy to be here - and a big hello to our Polish friends as well" says Belew working the sell out concert like the pro he is.
The improv in Thrak is propelled by a wonderful double-drum blast that serves as a fast moving platform for all kinds of sonic mayhem, with Gunn and Belew sneaking in some soaring guitar work in just under blasts and boom of it all.
After the ballyhoo of an effective Schizoid Man, Waiting Man has a real spring in its step with Bruford's marimba visiting some interesting variations on the usual theme. The spring in the step becomes a stompalong in big boots during Elephant Talk where Belew's solo really cuts through the air. Bruford's solo is cracking stuff on Indiscipline, although the song as a whole is taken at an uncannily speedy lick, as though they're having to hurry to get to the end. That said, the final solos between Fripp and Belew shred!
